The BIOSTRATEG is a strategic research and development program, called “Natural environment, agriculture and forestry”. The executive agency established to carry out the program tasks is the National Center for Research and Development. The thematic scope of the program covers five main problem areas:
1.Food security,
2.Rational management of natural resources with particular emphasis on water management,
3.Counteracting and adapting to climate change, with particular emphasis on agriculture,
4.Protection of biodiversity and sustainable development of agricultural production space,
5.Forestry and wood industry.
Polwax S.A. together with other members of the scientific and industrial consortium, carries out tasks iof the problem area: food safety. The consortium includes 8 entities, and the leader of the consortium is the Institute of Heavy Organic Synthesis (ICSO) based in Kędzierzyn-Koźle.
The title of the project is “New packaging using renewable raw materials and innovative paraffin impregnates”, acronym EKOPOLPAK.
The total value of the project is PLN 15,549,799, of which the value of tasks carried out by Polwax S.A. amounts to PLN 3,225,971.
The duration of the project is 36 months.
