During the process of production, storage, transport and application of solid fertilisers, there is a problem with caking of products. In order to prevent the tendency of agglomeration of fertiliser particles and the formation of solids, it is necessary to use hydrophobic conditioning preparations capable of simultaneously sticking to the surface of fertiliser granules.

Anti-caking agents manufactured by Polwax S.A., with carefully designed recipes, protect and impregnate the surface of fertiliser granules to prevent the formation of solid forms. In addition, they protect the granules from crushing by preventing the fertiliser from dusting during transport and application. They also extend the period during which the active constituents of the fertiliser enter the soil.

Due to the diverse composition of fertilisers linked to both the main components supplying plants with nitrogen, sulphur, phosphorus and calcium, magnesium, boron, and other elements, the production of anti-caking substances is “tailor-made”. This means that the choice of formula and the dose rate is determined on a case-by-case basis for a given type of fertiliser.
